Powders for drilling tools.

WFM-55WC powder based on NiCrSiFeB with tungsten carbide content is designed for gas-thermal powder facing using SuperJet Eutalloy S gas burners. Surfacing is possible on steel and cast iron. The coatings obtained after surfacing by this powder have exceptional wear-resistant characteristics in abrasive, corrosive, erosive environments, impact, friction, thermal loads, and pressure environments. The coating has a smooth surface and the coated part can be put into operation without further mechanical processing.

Powder WFM-55WC.

Technical characteristics:

  • Chemical composition: NiCrFeSiB + WC55
  • Hardness: matrix – 49 HRC, WC – 1900 HV
  • Fractions: 63-125 microns.
  • The shape of the fractions is spherical.
  • Sprayed in an inert gas.
  • Operating temperature ≈ 700°С

Powder WFM-60WC.

Technical characteristics:

  • Chemical composition: NiCrFeSiBC + WC60%
  • Hardness: matrix – 60-63 HRC, WC – 1900 HV
  • Fractions: 125-25 microns
  • Granulometry WC: 150-32 microns
  • The shape of the fractions is spherical.
  • Sprayed in an inert gas.
  • Melting temperature: 960-1065 °С
  • Operating temperature ≈ 700°С

Powder WFM-70WC.

Technical characteristics:

  • Chemical composition: NiCrFeSiBC + WC70%
  • Hardness: matrix – 63-66 HRC, WC – 1900 HV
  • Fractions: 63-125 microns
  • The shape of the fractions is spherical.
  • Sprayed in an inert gas.
  • Operating temperature ≈ 700°С

Powder WFM-VHK10.1063.

WFM-VHK10.1063 powder based on 10Co4Cr + WC86% is intended for thermal spraying of wear-resistant materials.
coatings Spraying is possible on all types of metals. Coatings obtained after spraying have exceptional wear-resistant characteristics in abrasive, erosion, corrosion, friction, thermal loads, and pressure environments.

Technical characteristics:

  • Chemical composition: 86WC-10Co-10Cr
  • Hardness: 62 HRC
  • Fractions: 10-63 microns
  • The shape of the fractions is spherical.
  • Sprayed in an inert gas.
  • Operating temperature ≈ 540°С

Application of powders.

Use of powders in drilling tools:

  • hard-metal PDC bit tipping on production or restoration stage;
  • surfacing of the calibrator blades;
  • KPC tool tipping, production or restoration.

Screws of centrifuges for mud cleaning systems, extruder screws, mixer blades, fan blades in air-abrasive media, etc. Procedure of surfacing. Before surfacing a part should be activated in the following way:

a) Carry out shot blasting with shot of steel, cast iron, chipped,  fractions at least of 1.2 mm.
b) Sanding machine, abrasive wheel corundum.

To achieve even wear-resistant characteristics of the surfaced layer, the powder container must be shaken for at least 1 minute for even mixing of the matrix with WC particles.
