Welding cord.
The welding cord WFM FW65-05-07 is a self-fluxing flexible cord based on the NiCrB alloy. It has a high tungsten carbide content to protect surfaces subject to friction and abrasive wear, pressure and impact.
After surfacing, a hard wear-resistant coating with a uniform distribution of tungsten carbide is obtained. The deposited layer, obtained with the help of cord solder, consists of a solid matrix matrix and uniformly distributed carbide. The resulting structure of the deposited material allows you to effectively protect the surface from erosive and abrasive wear. This wear can be caused by the influence of such materials as sand, gravel, earth, minerals, etc. The viscous matrix absorbs shock loads and improves corrosion resistance. At that time, the special form of tungsten carbide makes it impossible to tear them out of the matrix.
| Matrix | Carbide | Quantity (tungsten carbide) WC volume | Application |
| 42-45 [HRC] | 1850-2200 [HV] | 65% | Surfacing is carried out using an acetylene-oxygen torch. |
NOT RECOMMENDED: TIG welding (non-melting argon welding with a tungsten electrode). Leads to the deterioration of surfacing properties due to the high temperature effect on tungsten carbide during surfacing. After TIG surfacing, the wear-resistant quality is lower than after gas flame surfacing.
